Six in one hundred New Zealanders have diabetes - of those about 10% are type 1, the rest are type 2.
It's a disease that some associate with unhealthy diets or lifestyles, but for many that's far from the truth. Last year, whilst on holiday in Bali professional ball player Dion Collins was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes...he chats to Jesse Mulligan on RNZ.
